Lisa Hedge analysis and inspired work

Lisa Hedge

Lisa Hedge is a graphic designer that uses paper cuts to manipulate images and create new one's. She also works with various other techniques including collage and typography.
This piece of work was created by Lisa Hedge, I found it on her website http://www.lisahedge.com/  it was under the category of paper cuts. I couldn't find much background information on her as she wasn't sharing any on her website.
I had a go at re-creating her paper cut work.

I did this by hole punching into half of a photograph and then sticking it to a piece of coloured paper, the second photograph was done by cutting triangles out of half of the photograph with a craft knife and keeping some of the off cuts to stick next to the photograph on the coloured paper.

Lisa Hedge's work got her the award of 'Print magazines new visual artist of 2012' her work was also displayed at this exhibition. I have chosen to analyse this piece of work because I like the style of her work and it relates to my theme of portraiture also when I tried it out myself I really enjoyed doing it.
Lisa Hedge's work reminds me of another artists work; Abigail Reynolds (http://www.abigailreynolds.com/) below is an example of her work.

Overall I really like Lisa's work and I would like to experiment with it further and use it in my future work.
