This photograph is by Amy Friend. Amy Friend studied at the Ontario college of Art and design, she made this by using a pin to create holes in a photograph.
The title of this piece of work is 'Dare all a luce'-describing the moment of birth. I found this picture on her website http://amyfriend.ca/home.html she describes her work on here "Through small deliberate interventions, I altered these vintage images, allowing light to pass through them. (After all, photographs are made possible with light.) In a literal and somewhat playful manner, I aimed to give the photographs back to the light, hence the title of the series, Dare alla Luce, an Italian phrase used to describe the moment of birth."
She uses vintage photographs and a light source to re-capture the old images in a different way. Her techniques are quite effective as they really change the feel of the overall image.
I have chosen to use this artist for inspiration for my work because i find her work very interesting and when i tried it it came out well.
