Painted nature

This experimental work was inspired  by Norm Magnusson's work where he painted aspects of nature and photographed them amongst unpainted/natural nature and pavements etc.
For this piece of work I chose a piece of nature, in this case a pine cone, I then painted the pine cone with acrylic paint, I painted it orange on one side and blue on the other, I chose these colours because they are complimentary colours, I also chose to paint it like this as it would look different from every angle. I then took the pine cone outside and photographed it against trees, grass, bark and leaves. I enjoyed this as I had never done anything like it before and it was a different aspect of photograph where we some what created the scene. To improve these photographs I think I could have used some leaves as well as the pine cone.
