Alain Paiement In-depth analysis

Alain Paiement

An inventory-Alain Paiement
Alain Paiement is a Canadian artist, born in 1960 in Montreal. The majority of his work consists of photography, instillations, sculptures and photo-montage.
The main themes that run through his work are geography, typography and architecture. He studied at the university of Quebec where he got a masters degree in fine art, the university of Paris and the national school of visual arts in Cambre in Brussels. He then went on the teach at The university of Ottawa, Concordia university and the university of Montreal. He currently lives and works in Montreal and is best known for his elaborate aerial views of various domestic and work spaces.
Quote from Alain Paiement:
'The blur is an optical aberration. it is this which exceeds the limits of my perception in the immediate experience of what's around me, as an effect of the unresolved mental reconstruction of a whole by adding frames which we would never be able to gather all in one place at the same time.'

I chose to do some research about this artist because the photograph above was in my second starting point and I liked the look of it. I liked it because it looked interesting and it gave me inspiration for one of my initial ideas.
