In depth analysis of Thomas Hawk
This photograph was taken by Thomas Hawk, this is from his work on the 2012 festival of colours or the Holi festival. The image relates to body painting which is one of my 4 initial ideas for my first roll of film. this collection of work links to my theme of portraiture because he has photographed people.
Thomas Hawk works as a freelance photographer at Thomashawk.com . He attended Westmount college and lives in Oakland, California.
The photograph is of a woman at the 2012 Holi festival, she is covered in powder paint and looks to be having fun.
I chose to analyse this image because when I found it on a website called Behance my first reaction was that it was fun and colourful and it related to both my theme of portraiture and my interest in body paint.
In this photograph the model is not centred this gives it a more interesting look rather than just a usual portrait, the colourfulness of this image also makes it stand out a lot and gives it a more unique look.
I like this photograph and the other photographs in this series from the 2012 festival of colours because they really stood out to me and gave me ideas for my first roll of film. I also like how bright they are and how they have so many layers and textures without actually having any because of the powder paint.
