For my final outcome I got the title 'enhanced image', in the lead up to my final outcome as a class and independently I tried different ways of experimenting with photographs to develop my skill set and find out how I like working with photographs. For this I looked at a lot of different artists and photographs, the ones that inspired me the most for my final out come and the experiments I enjoyed the most are;
I used two of these artists in my work (Stacey Page and Nina Chakrabati) as I painted the faces of my models and worked into my final outcome that I printed onto fabric. I started by taking both film and digital photographs based around my theme of portraits. Once I developed and printed my images I decided how I was going to enhance my images, I chose my techniques by using past experiments that I had enjoyed or that I thought had turned out well. The experiments I enjoyed doing the most were embroidery and embellishment inspired by Stacey Page, I enjoyed this because I liked how it looked although it took a lot of patience and time. I also enjoyed painting onto my photographs this was inspired by a few artists including; Nina Chakrabarti, William Hatch Crosby and Leslie David. They all have different way's in which they paint onto their photographs but I found it useful to see the different techniques, that inspired me for my final outcome. I liked my final outcome because I enjoyed doing it and I liked how it looked in the end. To improve my work I think I could have spent more time on embellishing my final piece to add more texture to my work and make it more interesting. I also could of printed my photographs on to the fabric sooner as to give me more time and allow me to put more thought into it. Overall I really enjoyed creating my final outcome and would use the techniques again in my future outcomes, I liked how it tired out but I think I should have put more embellishment on it. For my next project I would like to use heat transfer again.
