Out of these experiments I enjoyed the pin dots, this experiment was inspired by Amy Friend, who made pin dots on old photographs then re-photographed the image with a light behind it. This created a highlight effect on the image on the parts that have pin dots on them. I liked this experiment because I enjoyed doing it and I liked that you couldn't tell what it would look like without re-photographing it. For my ideas roll of film, I am going to use this effect on 6 of my frames, I'm not sure if i want to use it for my final outcome yet but i am going to try it again.
Another experiment I tried in the summer that I enjoyed was drawing on photographs, this was inspired by an artist called William Hatch Crosby, for this idea I also looked at an artist called Nina Chakrabati, her work is similar to Williams but I liked her work a lot more. Nina's work was for a magazine and she painted onto models faces a pattern. I have decided to do this for 6 of my frames on my first film.
Other experiments I have tried since then are paper cuts, photo illustration, double exposures, animated Gif's, solorisation, vignette in the darkroom, highlighting, dodging and burning and photo collage. I've also tried Photoshop experiments which I didn't enjoy as much because I found them difficult but I did enjoy picking up the new skills. I enjoyed doing double exposures in the darkroom but i didn't enjoy the in camera double exposures as much as it was difficult and my attempt didn't come out very well. I also enjoyed solorisation in the dark room, this was inspired by Man-ray and it worked quite well with my images.
The techniques that I want to use for my final outcome are;
Pin dots inspired by Amy Friend
Nina Chakrabati inspired photographs
I have decided to present my final out come onto fabric and add text and embroidery and embellishment to my final piece.
