Vignette's in the darkroom

This is the first card I made, I made this to put over my photograph while exposing it to create a vignette border.

I tried again to make the card because my first one came out too square.

This photograph was made using my first card, I placed it on top of the photo paper then exposed it. The result was quite a hard edge/boarder around the image.

For this effect I held the card four inches above the photo paper whilst exposing it and slightly moved it to create the feathered edge.

For this I used my second card, I preferred how this cared made the image look.

For this I used my second card again and held it four inches above the image whilst exposing it.

This effect was created by finding the exposure time and only exposing it for half of the time, I then placed a coin onto the image and exposed it for the other half of the time. This created a highlight effect.

This was made by exposing my image then dipping an object, in this case an artist easel, into developer and pressing it onto the image to only show parts of the image.
